We're very excited to have Thatch & Roses stock our products!
Thatch & Roses was brought to life by Emily, the visionary and hands-on creative florist. Starting out in a workshop tucked away at the back of the 16th Century thatched farmhouse that Emily shares with her family, “Thatch & Roses” was born.

Tell us about the beginnings of Thatch & Roses?
Thatch & Roses began many years ago as a specialist wedding florist and offering the occasional workshop, all from a barn at my home. With the Covid pandemic came the opportunity to diversify and pull on my past skills working in fashion retail. This led to the quick development of our e-commerce business spreading joy through flowers during some of the darkest days of lockdown. A shop was always a future plan for this business, needing more space for workshops and weddings whilst satisfying the natural shopkeeper within. After my best friend waved the planning permission for Ben's Yard under my nose back in 2019 and the quick success of the retail floristry side of the business, it felt like an opportunity too good to miss. Fast forward to today, and you can now visit us seven days a week at Ben's Yard.
Where did you hear about Norfolk Natural Living?
Being a born & bred Norfolk girl I've watched Norfolk Natural Living grow over the years into the beautiful business it has become. I first encountered the products in person in one of the many suppliers along the Norfolk coast and have visited the shops in Holt many times. I knew from the off that Norfolk Natural Living would be the perfect fit for the Thatch & Roses customer and was excited to be able to offer a much-loved brand from my home county to the people of Cambridgeshire.
What’s your favourite local spot?
When I'm not working with flowers, one of my favourite things to do is get outside with my family. Often for a walk with the children and dogs. There are so many beautiful walks in the area, like the one at Ben's Yard which has stunning views of the rich Fenland farm land and Ely Cathedral, the majestic Ship of the Fens. We regularly head back to the coast and love nothing better than a brisk walk on the beach especially in the quiet of Winter, with our favourites being Holme which is a little more off the beaten track, alongside Holkham & Brancaster.
If a customer asked for your favourite Norfolk Natural Living product currently in store, which would you choose and why?
It's a tough one because I have too many! Personally, I have the Basil & Neroli Reed Diffuser in my home and use the Plant Food to keep my collection of houseplants alive and well, and there's nothing I love better after a long day at work than to relax in a hot bath with some Deepest Sleep Bath Oil - can you tell I'm a fan?
What's currently your best selling product?
Ironically for a florist, our best selling product since opening our doors is the Dog Cologne, which probably has something to do with our two brand ambassadors, Morse & Nero - the labradors! They are at work with me every day and are well-known amongst our customers for their cheeky hellos (Nero) & loving cuddles (Morse). We already have customers on a list waiting for the newest order to arrive! Aside from anything dog-related, the Plant Food, the Coastal Walks hand creams and all of the candles and reed diffusers are definite hits with our customers time and time again!
How to spend a day at Ben's Yard?
Ben's Yard is a stunning place for all the family, you can shop, eat, play and relax! There are dog walks for your furry friends, an amazing play area for the kids and big kids alike, and an array of independent businesses just like ours. There truly is something for everyone! The restaurants and cafe sell delicious food and drinks for any occasion. We also have an on-site craft butcher, gift and homeware shops, stunning health and wellness brands and so much more. It feels like a really special collective of small businesses striving towards the same goal - giving the people a refreshing and joyful experience.
