Did you know a scent can hold a memory like nothing else? Although this year is my 13th Wedding anniversary, every time I smell my perfume I wore on the day, I am transported back to it. I just wish I’d known for my wedding these three tips:
- Scent your veil & lining of your dress (so every time you move your fragrance is released) but don’t spritz your dress - it might stain! Also carry a 10ml parfum so you can refresh your scent throughout the day (or put one in the bathroom at the venue so you can refresh!)
- Scent your venue - you can even match your candles & bathroom amenities to your perfume (but ask the caterers to light two hours before guests arrive) so the scent can travel throughout the space or use room mists or diffusers (if they don’t allow candles). Another great touch is having room mists dotted about and give someone the job of randomly spritzing the venue every now and again! (I gave this job to my brother and I’m so glad I did!)
- Finally and probably my favourite tip is… scent is your wedding invitations - it’s such a lovely unusual touch ♥️ you could even give your guests a 10ml of your scent as a wedding favour - if you’re feeling lavish.
Your Bridal Fragrance
The most important fragrant aspect of the day is the fragrance that you will be wearing! This fragrance is guaranteed to be the most well remembered (and photographed) bottle of fragrance you will ever own.
Of course, you could stick with the theme of the day and choose a fragrance that is already featured elsewhere in the wedding. Or you could choose something completely different and give that fragrance extra special meaning as it is only being featured on you. My best advice is if you have a favourite floral note, wear it on your wedding day. It will truly make you feel like yourself and will give your partner that sense of comfort when he or she smells your signature scent.
Have your photographer include your bottle in a few shots so that you can always remember what scent carried you down the aisle.
